VISUAL DEVELOPMENT

Conceived as part of an iterative daily generative art series, the visuals are themselves a chronology of ideas frozen in time, meant to evoke the complex sometimes messy, always surprising realities of bringing ideas out of the dream-space into the waking world.

PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT

All the real-time content was generated on-the-fly in the TOUCHDESIGNER software, streamed via network to the software RESOLUME ARENA where LED screen management and pixelmapping were handled.

PRODUCTION + POST

The physical structure of the installaion is a composition of a 30-metre long, 4-metre high double-sided LED screen wall, and dual archways are cut through this wall to allow passage through the screen for viewers. The screening resolution is 3600px wide by 480px high on 416 LED Panels and 242 Pixel Strips.

The audio employs modern sythns, drums, guitars and piano sewn together with the recurring motifs of Ugandan traditional instrumentation and vocal chants to create a kind of alternate reality afro-synthwave offering. The main intent was to deepen immersion by using the music as connective narrative tissue for the artwork.
